Nicholas J. Stevens assists clients with various litigation needs such as performing research, drafting legal memoranda, and preparing for trial. Nick has worked on a patent case pending before the International Trade Commission where he assisted the senior attorneys with drafting expert reports, motions in limine, and preparing expert witnesses for cross-examination. Nick also deposed an expert witness and then cross-examined the expert at the hearing.
In addition, Nick also maintains an active pro bono practice by providing legal services to indigent individuals. For example, he is assisting a small business in applying for a trademark application, volunteering monthly at the Family Law help center in Philadelphia, and representing indigent individuals in the defense of tort claims pending in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. Nick also obtained a directed verdict for his client in a court appointed pro bono case in New Jersey regarding a domestic violence dispute.
While in law school, Nick served as a judicial extern for the Hon. Ann Marie Donio, District of New Jersey and for the Hon. Dolores K. Sloviter, Third Circuit Court of Appeals. He also was a judicial intern for the Hon. J. Curtis Joyner, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Prior to entering law school, Nick worked as a paralegal at an intellectual property firm where he assisted the attorneys with litigation matters including a patent infringement lawsuit that went to trial in the District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
