Ian Rockwell supports clients in advancing their causes through the Washington lobbying process. He conducts legislative, regulatory, and industry research for clients and reviews trade press, agency releases, and the broader media to keep clients and District Policy Group colleagues informed and up to date on issues such as health care, appropriations, and global health. Ian also keeps tabs on political and electoral developments and drafts presentations and newsletters for clients, helping them to spread the word, plan ahead, and anticipate change in Washington. He also attends a variety of briefings, coalition meetings, and congressional hearings to stay informed on the latest policy developments.
Ian joined the District Policy Group after working briefly at the Canadian Embassy and four years in the United States Senate as a staffer for Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT). In that role, Ian worked on international affairs, global health, and education, and became conversant with the congressional budgeting and appropriations processes. Ian’s work included meeting with constituents and answering their inquiries on the Senator’s behalf while conducting research on legislation and nominations. He was selected to participate in the U.S.-Mexico Young Leaders Initiative of the Center for American Progress and the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Foreign Policy Fellowship Program. Ian looks forward to bringing his experience on the Hill to bear for the District Policy Group and its clients.
