Bronwen M. Loeb concentrates her practice on U.S. and foreign biotechnology, chemical, and pharmaceutical patent drafting and prosecution, as well as portfolio management. She also has experience in landscape and due diligence analyses. Bronwen’s clients include large biologics corporations and a large industrial chemical manufacturer. She is a patent agent in the firm’s Intellectual Property group.


Prior to joining the firm, Bronwen was an examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Virginia, Bronwen examined applications in the gene expression art unit of the recombinant molecular and microbiology section. Representative technologies include nucleic acids encoding transcription control elements, nucleic acid constructs, and methods of nucleic acid mutation. Prior to being an examiner, Bronwen prepared and prosecuted patent applications in performance fibers technology, including polyester tire cord and industrial polyamide fiber.
Prior to entering patent law, Bronwen worked as a scientist at the Institute of Molecular Biology at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Bronwen researched protein-DNA interactions in model prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems and protein structure-function analyses. Bronwen is the author of nine articles published in a variety of scientific peer-reviewed journals.
