Andrew B. Joseph is an experienced litigator who has tried multiple cases to verdict. He focuses on complex business disputes, consumer class action litigation, securities litigation and the defense of white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions. Andrew is the partner in charge of Drinker Biddle’s Florham Park office.
Andrew has been engaged as lead trial counsel for clients in a variety of business disputes throughout the country. Among other things, he has defended corporations and executives in federal, state, arbitral and regulatory claims involving franchise disputes, unfair competition, breach of contract, tortious interference, fraud, bad faith, professional malpractice, trademark infringement, business divorce, commercial real estate and leasing disputes, non-compete covenants, RICO laws and Qui Tam statutes. Andrew also counsels his clients on strategic issues and initiatives to minimize litigation risk. Andrew’s clients include leading wireless carriers, pharmaceutical companies, business consulting firms, retailers and financial institutions.
Andrew has been engaged by Fortune 100 companies in the defense of class action suits brought in state and federal courts throughout the country. He routinely serves as lead trial counsel and often works with other attorneys in joint-defense groups. Andrew has obtained favorable results across the country on a host of claims involving allegations of fraud, breach of contract, misrepresentation, false advertising, unfair business practices, product defect and the violation of RICO laws, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act and other statutory claims.
Andrew has represented corporations, their officers and employees in criminal investigations before federal and state grand juries and in defense of criminal matters in the federal and state trial courts. Andrew has also led sensitive and complex internal investigations involving public, private and not-for-profit entities in the pharmaceutical, communications, financial services, manufacturing, and environmental industries. He also counsels clients on subpoena compliance, regulatory inquiries and other compliance issues.
Before joining Drinker Biddle, Andrew worked as a senior assistant district attorney in the Kings County District Attorney's Office in Brooklyn, New York. During his career there, Andrew was responsible for numerous high profile prosecutions and was recognized for his accomplishments as a prosecutor.
