Jonathan M. Heppen conducts legislative research and tracks relevant legislation in health-related areas. He also drafts memoranda and regularly interacts with congressional offices. Jonathan works with the District Policy Group’s clients including health care professional organizations, nursing organizations, non-profit patient advocacy, global health, and non-profit hospital systems, among others.
Prior to joining the District Policy group, Jonathan interned on Capitol Hill with the office of Congressman Kurt Schrader where he conducted research on health care policy, emergency management services, and natural resources issues, among other areas. Additionally, Jonathan helped manage the front office and led constituent tours of the Capitol. Jonathan also held a college internship in the Lehigh Valley office of Senator Robert Casey, Jr.
During the 2012 campaign cycle, Jonathan also interned at Anzalone Liszt Gove Research, a public opinion research firm. He assisted the firm’s senior staff in conducting research and opinion polling for clients, including President Obama’s re-election campaign efforts in four swing states.
Jonathan also interned in the Government Relations office of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Administration. During that time, he conducted research on high-speed rail projects, homeland security, and transportation financing.
