Washington, D.C., associate Yodi Hailemariam authored an article in Law360 titled “China – The Next Data Privacy Frontier.” Yodi discussed recent regulatory developments affecting data privacy in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and what steps multinational organizations should take to minimize risk when handling information in the PRC.

In the article, Yodi details the PRC’s national personal information standards (GB/T 35273-2017 Information Technology — Personal Information Security Specification) which regulate the collection, storage, processing, use and disclosure of personal information. She also discusses how the standards add to and clarify the new Cybersecurity Law of the PRC.
