Albany partner Matt Amodeo authored two chapters in the recent released 7th Edition of the “AHLA Health Plans Contracting Handbook: A Guide for Payors and Providers,” published by the American Health Lawyers Association.
The handbook contains educational material and helpful tips on managed care contracting issues for healthcare attorneys and other industry practitioners. It provides industry perspectives from both payors’ and providers’ points of view.
One of Matt’s chapters, titled “Key Contact Provisions,” discusses the importance of carefully drafted contract definitions, and provides practical examples of key contract language. The second of Matt’s chapters, titled “The Impact of Health Reform on Payor-Provider Relationships,” explains how rapidly evolving payment and accountable care delivery models in the health care industry are transforming what has historically been an adversarial relationship between payors and providers to one of cooperation as payors and providers work together to improve care while reducing costs.
