On September 1, 2007, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) will begin enforcing the advance electronic filing (“e-Manifest”) requirements for trucks entering the United States through ports in Washington, Arizona, eastern North Dakota, Texas, New Mexico, California, New York and Michigan. Trucks that have not transmitted data for shipments crossing the border via e-Manifest will not receive a permit to proceed into the United States, potentially resulting in substantial cargo delays.
