Albany partner Rachel Ryan, who currently serves as vice chair of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, is among the first attorneys to be selected for inclusion on the inaugural Nation’s Best list awarded by Lawyers of Color, a nonprofit organization devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities. The organization celebrates attorneys of color and conducts research and studies regarding the intersection of the legal profession and social justice.

Taking her role on Drinker Biddle’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee very much to heart, Rachel works hard to help implement various programs and processes in the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan, including recruiting, retention, assignment management and overall lawyer development. Rachel is a 2016 Fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and a member of the Capital District Black and Hispanic Bar Association. She speaks regularly on topics related to the advancement of diverse lawyers.

A member of Drinker Biddle’s Health Care Group, Rachel counsels health care systems, hospitals, physicians and physician practices on regulatory, compliance and transactional matters. She assists her clients in developing the proper legal structures to implement their hospital-physician alignment strategies, including professional service arrangements, employment agreements, co-management contracts and captive professional corporation vehicles.
