Kaitlyn E. Stone, an associate in Drinker Biddle’s Products Liability and Mass Tort Group, has been invited to join the Products Liability Advisory Council (PLAC) as part of its Future Leaders initiative. Comprising more than 100 leading product manufactures and 350 of the most elite product liability defense counsel operating in the U.S. and abroad, PLAC is a nonprofit association that was formed 35 years ago to analyze, understand, and shape the common law of product liability and complex litigation. PLAC provides guidance on changing regulations and strategically helps corporations manage risk throughout the entire product lifecycle. The organization has filed more than 1,000 briefs as amicus curiae in state and federal courts to present the broad perspective of manufacturers. PLAC focuses on achieving balance and fairness in the application of existing law within the civil litigation system and its many facets and on leveraging litigation—and trials—to shape the common law.
