During the discussion, Fred discussed how to adhere to the “impartial conduct standards” under the transition rules. He highlighted the complicated nature of the fiduciary rule, explaining that “[p]eople have been combining the conflict of interest rules and the fiduciary standard of care and mushing them together and just calling it the ‘fiduciary rule.’ It’s more complicated than that.”
