Our friend and former partner Raymond Tierney Jr. passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

Ray was a larger-than-life leader of the New Jersey legal community and was instrumental in the growth and success of Shanley & Fisher. He retired from the firm in 1999.

Ray was often recognized in the legal community for his achievements and received many awards throughout his career, including the St. Thomas More Medal from Seton Hall Law School and the Distinguished Alumnus award from Fordham University School of Law. Ray also received the Trial Bar award from the Trial Attorneys of New Jersey.

Ray is survived by his wife of 61 years, Kathleen; his 5 children, Kathy Snyder (Craig), Alicia Johnson (Doug), Raymond 3rd (Diane), Michael and Christopher (Sandy); 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and his twin brother Richard. He was predeceased by his sister Mary Alice Barry and brothers Bill and Jack Tierney.
