Philadelphia partner Kathryn E. Deal has been selected by The Legal Intelligencer as one of this year’s “Lawyers on the Fast Track.”
Honorees were chosen by a six-member panel, which evaluated nominees on their advancement of the law, leadership, and pro bono efforts. Winners will be profiled in a special supplement and honored at an awards dinner in Philadelphia on June 22.
In recent years, Kate has tried eight complex civil matters to verdict on behalf of our clients in the pharmaceutical, investment banking, manufacturing, education, and retail industries. At the same time, she has defeated numerous class action lawsuits arising under consumer protections statutes, anti-discrimination legislation, products liability law, and federal and state RICO statutes.
Kate also has an active pro bono practice. In addition to representing low-income clients in need, she has written amicus briefs to the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on matters of first impression under the First Amendment and to the U.S. Supreme Court on Sixth Amendment issues in a capital case.
Outside of the office, Kate serves on the Leadership Council for Community Legal Services of Philadelphia and as an alumni ambassador for the Cornell University admissions office.
Kate was recognized as a “Litigation Star” by Benchmark Litigation earlier this year.
