Florham Park partner Michael C. Zogby was featured in Law360’s Trial Pro Q&A series. In the article, Mike answered questions related to his trial practice and offered advice to lawyers gearing up to try their first case.
Mike shared experiences from his litigation and trial practice, relating to interesting cases, unexpected developments, and the importance of preparation and trial themes.
When asked, “If you could give just one piece of advice to a lawyer on the eve of their first trial, what would it be?” Mike responded, “Never sacrifice your personal credibility just to win a point. The jurors are always weighing whom they trust more, so be credible, show the judge you are credible. Credibility is developed by being respectable, reliable and knowing when to give up points that are not worth fighting and which you know you will not win.”
