Mary Hansen and Antonio Pozos to Speak at the White Collar Practice Seminar

Philadelphia partners Mary Hansen and Antonio Pozos will speak at the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers’ 2019 White Collar Practice Seminar on November 20 – 22, 2019 in Philadelphia.

Mary will speak on “Recent Decisions Affecting Civil and Criminal Investigations and Prosecutions Involving the Federal Securities Laws” on November 22, 2019. Important decisions, including Supreme Court decisions, have had an impact on the SEC’s and DOJ’s handling of investigations and prosecutions concerning securities laws in the past few years. The speakers will examine legal issues stemming from these investigations and prosecutions, including the statute of limitations applicable to civil and criminal prosecutions, the SEC’s definition of willfulness, scheme liability under Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act, collateral consequences of joint and parallel civil and criminal investigations, and whistleblower developments. Mary will speak with Mauro M. Wolfe from Duane Morris and Michael Rinaldi from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, EDPA.

Tony will discuss “A Look at Legal Ethics through the Lens of the Mueller Investigation” on November 22, 2019. Lawyers played various roles in and during the Mueller Investigation, which led to the subsequent report. In this session, speakers will discuss how the role of attorney ethics guided those involved and the impact of key attorneys’ choices. Tony will speak alongside James Petkun from Klehr Harrison Harvey Branzburg and Adam Saltzman from Buchanan Ingersoll.
