Data Security & Ethical Use

Overview

Peter Blenkinsop, Ann Marie Stanley and Ilse Peterson participated on a panel at the 2019  National Health Council’s (NHC) Science of Patient Engagement Symposium. Their one-hour panel focused on the ethical use of data and data security. They addressed questions regarding steps individual patients and patient organizations can take to ensure the data they collect or generate is being used ethically.

The NHC’s Science of Patient Engagement Symposium is a two-day annual meeting that focuses on the science of patient engagement and was formerly called the Chief Medical/Science Officers Conference. Research leaders share, with a broad scientific audience, their experiences, accomplishments, best practices, and resulting impacts on medicine and science regarding patient centricity.
