Washington, D.C., partner and chief data scientist Bennett B. Borden and associate Yodi S. Hailemariam spoke on a panel at the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s 2019 Global TEC Forum in San Francisco, CA on April 5, 2019.
In a session entitled, “Minority Report: The Ethics & Impacts of Algorithms,” Bennett and Yodi led a panel discussion addressing the potential biases, hidden agendas, and discriminatory implications inherent in the proliferation of consumer data that is captured, mined, commoditized, and leveraged in the information age. The panelists also discussed innovations such as artificial intelligence, automation, and computer programming and guided participants on how to move forward in a responsible, legal and ethical way.
