Chicago partner Jim Lundy will chair a panel on “Algorithmic Trading: Training to Avoid Disrupting Markets” at the Futures Industry Association’s (FIA) 34th Annual Futures & Options Expo on October 18, 2018. Other panelists include the Associate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Teza Technologies, and a Market Regulation Manager for ICE Futures U.S.
When a disruption occurs, exchanges waste no time asking questions of market participants to understand the source. Panelists will address the questions commonly raised in an exchange’s inquiry in such a situation, along with strategies for responding. This session will cover steps that could be taken during the development, launch and operation of algorithmic trading strategies to avoid disruptive practices such as spoofing, flickering, and layering. Participants will leave with a better understanding of the components of an effective training and supervision program for algorithmic trading.
