San Francisco partner Cheryl Orr co-chaired ACI’s 31st National Forum on Wage & Hour Claims & Class Actions, which took place in New York City from June 4-5. The forum brings leading in-house counsel, federal and state judges, top government officials, and leading outside defense counsel to discuss the latest developments in wage-and-hour law. Selected in-house counsel included Jeffery Brockmann of U.S. Bank, Nicole Groves of Facebook, Richard Heller of Legal Sea Foods, Heather Mitchell of JP Morgan Chase, Michael Segall of Hyatt Hotels and more.

Selected topics included current wage-and-hour claims trends; the latest federal, state and local regulations impacting the wage-and-hour landscape; and the status of the DOL regulations under the Trump administration. Cheryl moderated a panel titled “In-House Counsel Perspectives on Navigating Claims and Class Actions in Today’s Evolving Wage & Hour Landscape,” which offered insights on preventing and navigating wage-and-hour claims and class actions. Panelists included Ali Ayazi of 21st Century Fox America, Alexander Wood of PepsiCo, Jason Nickerson of Whole Foods Market, John Hamlin of Marsh & McLennan and Shelly Ranus of Starbucks.

Cheryl and fellow co-chair William Martucci of Shook, Hardy & Bacon also provided the opening remarks for both days of the conference. Drinker Biddle hosted a cocktail reception to conclude the first day of the forum. Labor & Employment attorneys Kate Gold, Larry Del Rossi, Kelly Petrocelli and Phil Lebel also attended the conference.
