Government and Regulatory Affairs Chair and Telecommunications partner Laura Phillips spoke at the Federal Communications Bar Association Privacy and Data Security Committee CLE at Drinker Biddle’s Washington, D.C., office on February 15. The event offered insights on the topics of robocalling issues and the TCPA, including potential FCC, Congressional, FTC and judicial actions against robocallers.

Laura participated on a panel session titled "What to Expect from the Congress, FTC and the Courts on the TCPA Front in 2018". The discussion provided an overview of recent trends in private class action TCPA litigation, how government actions affect litigation, the likelihood of future congressional amendments to the TCPA, and how the FTC utilizes its Telemarketing Sales Rule as a complement to the FCC’s enforcement actions.
