The Globalization of US Companies and their Workforce and the Impact on US Retirement Plans

Los Angeles counsel Heather Abrigo spoke at the 2016 ASPPA Annual Conference on October 26. Heather’s presentation was titled, “The Globalization of US Companies and their Workforce and the Impact on US Retirement Plans.” Participants identified what needs to be addressed in the plan document for US and non-US employees, discussed the tax implications for non-US employees who take distribution from the plan and how treaties between the US and other countries must be considered when designing retirement plans for non-US employees.

The presentation was extremely well attended and received. Two attendees asked Heather to speak on the topic again for their local organizations.
