On November 13, Washington, D.C. Intellectual Property of counsel Janet Fries spoke at the Wheaton Art Festival on a panel titled, “Law for Artists and Creative Professionals.”

The panel was produced by WALA (Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts) and discussed general principles of law that are relevant to all types of creative professionals. The discussion included a wide range of issues about contracts, copyrights, trademarks, releases, and licensing, as well as specific topics of importance to visual artist, including working with galleries.
