Jeremy Scott, Government Relations Director in Drinker Biddle’s Lobbying and Advocacy Team, presented at the National Lung Cancer Partnership 2012 Lung Cancer Advocacy Summit in Nashville, Tennessee on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012.

Jeremy presented on “Creating Change Through the Legislative Process.” The presentation provided an overview of the legislative process at the federal, state, and local levels; strategies for engaging elected officials; identifying opportunities to get involved in legislative initiatives; and how to obtaining local and state lung cancer awareness proclamations.

In addition to advocacy tips, Jeremy also discussed the federal appropriations funding process, the role of federal agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); and federal bills of interest and state oral chemotherapy parity legislation.
