Ilisa Halpern Paul, managing government relations director in Health Government Relations Practice in the Washington, D.C., office, conducted an advocacy training with the CEOs of Prevent Blindness America affiliates in Chicago on December 3, 2009. The session addressed how leaders can develop relationships with elected officials, provided tips on successful recruitment and retention of volunteers for advocacy efforts, and discussed how to build a government relations and advocacy program.
