Florham Park partner Paul Nittoly and Philadelphia associate Billy Smith addressed the President of Bloomfield College and select members of his staff on the topic of the Foreign Corrupt Practice Act and the potential pitfalls it presents for small colleges doing business overseas.  The presentation addressed the correct way for college administrative staff to handle gifts, travel and entertainment expenditures while overseas, recent and important case studies illustrating the wrong way to handle travel and lodging expenses, the correct way to handle the payments in foreign territories, guidance by the Department of Justice how to incur travel and lodging expenses for government officials, the definition of facilitating payments under the act and how to satisfy U.S. law recordation requirements.
