Philadelphia partner William Clark spoke on a panel at the annual Money Laundering Enforcement Conference, sponsored jointly by the American Bar Association and the American Bankers Association, on October 11, 2009. The presentation, “Federal and State Initiatives to Promote Transparency of Ownership of Entities,” addressed pending federal legislation that would require a list of the beneficial owners of an entity both to be filed with the Secretary of State when an entity is created and also updated at least yearly. Bill also discussed the Uniform Law Enforcement Access to Entity Information Act that has been promulgated by the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws as an alternative to the Federal legislation and for which he served as the Reporter.
