Janet Fries, counsel in Washington, will participate on a District of Columbia Bar's luncheon panel, “The ABC’s of IP: A Primer on Patent, Copyright and Trademark Law,” on July 24 at the D.C. Bar Conference Center. She will be one of four speakers on the panel and will focus her comments on copyright law. The D.C. Bar is hoping to attract new practitioners of IP law and summer associates that are interested in learning more about this field. Cost for section members, summer associates, clerks and government or nonprofit employees is $10; non-section members pay $15. Janet, co-chair of the D.C. Bar’s Steering Committee for the Arts, Entertainment, Media and Sports Law Section and vice chair of the section’s Arts and Cultural Committee, focuses her practice on copyright and trademark law, entertainment law and Internet law.
