Faegre Drinker Partner X. Christina Huang spoke on a panel titled “Unleashing Generative AI: Exploring Patent, Copyright & Trade Secret Risks & Opportunities” at the 2023 National Asian and Pacific Bar Association’s (NAPABA) Convention. The panel discussed what generative artificial intelligence (AI) is, and the implications and guardrails for using generative AI. During the presentation, the panel unpacked the technology, identified and discussed potential patent, copyright, and trade secret risks and opportunities, conducted case studies to provide progmatic guidance related to generative AI, and outlined how to advise clients and provide guardrails on these issues from legal and strategic perspectives.
