William M. Connolly is a partner in the Commercial Litigation and Communications Litigation Practice Groups. He joined the firm in 1996 following a two-year judicial clerkship with the Honorable Joseph J. Longobardi, Chief Judge, United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Bill's practice is focused on complex class action and commercial litigation.

Communications Litigation. Bill is the vice chair of the firm's Communications Litigation Practice Group, and represents communications companies in class actions, corporate governance disputes and commercial litigation matters.

Consumer and Securities Class Actions. Bill has defended companies in numerous class actions in both state and federal courts across the country, specializing in matters involving both wireless communications companies and accounting firms. As part of this practice, Bill often works with other attorneys in co-counsel or joint-defense group roles. Bill also works with companies to develop proactive policies to address and resolve consumer issues before they result in class action litigation.

Corporate Governance Litigation. Bill has represented officers, corporations and shareholders in a wide range of corporate governance disputes, with a particular emphasis on matters involving valuation of business enterprises.

In General. Bill graduated cum laude from the University of Notre Dame with a double major in accounting and philosophy. He worked as an auditor for the public accounting firm Deloitte & Touche before entering William and Mary Law School, where he graduated first in his class. While at William and Mary, he was a board editor for the William and Mary Law Review and a two-year teaching assistant in William and Mary's award-winning legal skills program. He is married, has two children, and lives in Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania.
