Romney L. Grippo is a partner in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group. Romney represents both public and private clients in a variety of matters, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, commercial transactions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and general corporate matters.
Romney has represented publicly held and privately owned clients in the acquisition and sale of businesses in a broad range of industries, including, the information technology, insurance, life sciences, chemical, manufacturing, distribution and financial services industries. She has also represented clients in venture capital financings and private placements, mergers and acquisitions, redemptions, and strategic alliances and other joint venture formations, recapitalizations and reorganizations. Romney also represents clients in the negotiation and documentation of a variety of business transactions, including equity and debt financings, and licensing, consulting, distribution and sales, shareholder, executive compensation, confidentiality and noncompetition agreements. Romney also provides general representation and counseling to sole proprietorships, general partnerships, limited partnerships, limited liability companies and corporations in the formation and management of their businesses.
In General. Romney graduated from Rutgers School of Law - Camden in 1993. She received an LL.M. in Taxation from Villanova University School of Law in 1995. Following graduation from law school, Romney served as law clerk to the Hon. Marvin N. Rimm, J.T.C., Tax Court of New Jersey. She earned her bachelor's degree in political science from Marymount Manhattan College in 1990. Romney is admitted to practice law in New Jersey. She is a member of the American Bar Association, and is a director of the Business Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.
