The MADness of the Digimedia Patent Claim

Washington, D.C., of counsel Lee Petro authored an article for Radio Magazine about a company's recent patent claim on technology that is commonly used in the radio industry.

The company in question, Mission Abstract Data (MAD), sent a letter to radio stations using the technology offering to enter into a license agreement for the use of the technology.

The patent claim was a shock to many companies, as much of the equipment was purchased through vendors.
