FTC Examines Green Claims for Buildings and Textiles: New Green Guides Likely in 2009

In response to the growing demand for environmentally friendly building and textile products, and the proliferation of green claims in these industries, the Federal Trade Commission held a workshop on July 15 to examine these environmental marketing claims. The workshop was the third and likely the last in a series of workshops aimed at educating the FTC and the public about environmental marketing claims, as the agency considers revising its “Guides for the Use of Environmental Marketing Claims,” known as the “Green Guides.”
