Michael D. Rafalko represents insurers, brokerages, third-party administrators and other entities with a range of complex litigation issues from nationwide class action defense to large and midsize coverage disputes. Michael is an associate in Drinker Biddle’s Insurance Group and co-chair of the firm’s long-term care insurance team.
In addition to litigation issues, Michael regularly assists insurers with issues relating to premium rate increases, HIPAA, fraud, new product development, suitability, pricing and reserving, sales and acquisitions of insurance blocks, provider credentialing, extraterritorial jurisdiction, discrimination, same-sex unions, claims training and audits, producer liability and compliance audits, among many other issues.
Michael also assists national and international clients with a broad range of life insurance, P&C and annuities issues with particular attention to issues involving the secondary market for life insurance, premium financing, fraud and stranger-originated life insurance.
