Hillorie A. Leaman focuses on key risks and issues facing the insurance industry. She is primarily responsible for developing the agenda for several industry-wide symposia that Drinker Biddle hosts each year.
Hillorie is an experienced litigator whose experience includes preparing motions and briefs, conducting complex discovery, and preparing witnesses for deposition or testimony. Hillorie has experience counseling and defending major pharmaceutical companies against consumer fraud, Medicaid fraud, unfair trade practices and personal injury claims. She also handles large multidistrict litigation, state attorney general actions, and individual products liability matters and has experience counseling and representing pro bono clients in landlord-tenant disputes.
Hillorie has particular experience in electronic discovery, having managed review teams in large-document cases. She is well-versed in the field of e-discovery and is particularly effective in communicating with technology experts.
Hillorie has been a member of Drinker Biddle’s insurance team for over 10 years as she started her legal career working with the group as a law clerk during law school. Prior to law school, Hillorie worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over six years. She worked as a sales representative promoting several well-known medications, and she was later promoted to national sales trainer where she trained newly hired sales representatives.
