Ballard Jamieson, Jr. assists clients with the formation, management and representation of pharmaceutical and bio-technology consortia. Comprised of major international firms and other medium-sized and smaller U.S.-based companies, these consortia sponsor scientific consensus building, and pre-competitive collaborations such as joint testing, data-sharing and analysis, standard-setting, research and technology development.
As secretary and legal counsel to over 15 consortia, Jim and the consortium management group of attorneys, scientists and project managers manage their day-to-day activities and represent them before the Food and Drug Administration and other regulatory authorities in the United States, the European Union, and Asia.
Prior to joining Drinker Biddle, Jim served as general counsel to the Paul Laxalt Group, a District of Columbia consulting firm. In that role, he represented corporate interests in legislative and policy matters.
From 1976 to 1979, Jim served in the Office of the General Counsel of the Council on Environmental Quality in the Executive Office of the President.
