Julie Snyder Hyams has more than 20 years of experience in the fields of health policy and advocacy. She represents clients before Congress to seek support for their public policy agendas, such as securing signatures on Dear Colleague letters, cosponsorship of legislation, and meetings with Members and staff. She also coordinates clients’ Congressional outreach and grassroots efforts with respect to garnering co-sponsorship of legislation, and develops floor statements, talking points and other advocacy materials to support client priorities.
Julie began her career working for U.S. Representative Louis Stokes (D-Ohio) for whom she handled children and family issues as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Following graduate school, Julie oversaw advocacy efforts at the Massachusetts Association of HMOs and did similar outreach and government relations for the Massachusetts Hospital Association, managing state and federal mobilization efforts and overseeing communications with the American Hospital Association and other state hospital associations.
Julie has spearheaded the public affairs efforts for a group of community hospitals north of Boston, directing all government relations efforts and overseeing all media operations. She also has worked as a consultant to several non-profits on a wide variety of state and federal health policy issues.
