Jeanna Palmer Gunville is an associate in the firm’s Health Care Practice Group.  She focuses her practice on general health care matters, including counseling hospital, health system, industry and physician clients on a range of transactional and regulatory matters.  She provides guidance regarding anti-kickback and self-referral laws and regulations, as well as licensing, compliance, health information privacy, and other state and federal regulatory matters.  Jeanna also handles a variety of general corporate matters, such as drafting and reviewing contracts and other transaction documents.  She develops comprehensive data privacy and security programs for health care providers and regularly counsels clients on data protection issues.  Jeanna also advises health information technology vendors and health care providers regarding the Medicare and Medicaid electronic health record incentive programs adopted under the HITECH Act.

While in law school, Jeanna was editor-in-chief of the Annals of Health Law and a finalist in the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Competition.  She has served as a law clerk in the Consumer Protection Division of the Health Care Bureau of the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, and as a judicial extern for the Honorable Ronald A. Guzman of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
