Neeta Daga is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group. Neeta’s practice focuses on transactional matters and litigation. She also has experience advising clients with regard to trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and promotions and advertising.
Transactional Experience. Neeta has drafted and negotiated software license agreements, healthcare technology agreements, hosting agreements, consulting agreements and other collaboration agreements. Her experience includes closing a multi-million dollar remote hosting outsourcing deal, as well as negotiating the acquisition of electronic medical record systems for several hospitals and health systems.
Litigation. Neeta’s litigation practice includes cases involving trademark infringement, right of publicity and trade secret misappropriation claims. Recently, Neeta was part of a Drinker Biddle team that successfully defended a client in a significant federal product configuration trademark and trade dress infringement case. Our client prevailed on all claims and the case clarified a number of key issues involving functionality and product configuration trade dress. Over the course of the litigation, Neeta was involved in drafting and responding to a variety of motions, including preparing a successful motion to exclude the opposition's expert witness on likelihood of confusion issues.
Neeta also has experience in prosecuting and enforcing trademarks and assisting clients in running promotions and sweepstakes.
In General. Neeta earned her J.D., cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago Law School in 2009, where she served as an extern for Judge Ann Claire Williams of the Seventh Circuit for a semester. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in political science with a minor in psychology from the University of Rochester in 2006.
Neeta is admitted to the bar in the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois.
