Philip J. Cardinale is an associate in the Intellectual Property Practice Group, focusing his practice on copyright law. He also handles a wide range of trademark, licensing, Internet and design law matters.
Phil currently serves as Chair of the American Bar Association’s Special Committee on Copyright & New Technologies and a member of the ABA’s Copyright Reform Task Force. He is also a Steering Committee member of the Arts, Entertainment, Media, and Sports Section of the District of Columbia Bar Association. Phil was named a winner of the 2010 Burton Award for distinguished legal writing.
Phil received his J.D. from George Washington University Law School and also holds a Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Oxford (England). He received his bachelor's degree from Georgetown University in English and Classical Languages and has published articles in those fields as well as intellectual property law. He also formerly worked as a newspaper reporter on eastern Long Island, New York.
