Associate

Nicolas Guzman is an associate in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice Group and is a member of the Customs & International Trade team. He maintains a dual practice working with clients on general corporate and international trade matters.

Corporate Practice. Nick assists clients on a variety of corporate matters, including merger and acquisition transactions, general corporate governance, securities, and government contracting matters serving clients from small businesses to multi-national corporations.

Customs and Trade Practice. Nick also assists clients with all aspects of international trade laws and regulations. He has experience helping clients with a variety of import and export issues, including import and export classification, valuation, country of origin determination and marking issues, U.S. and Canadian sanctions programs, electronic export reporting, enforcement actions, and eligibility determinations under various free trade agreements and duty preference programs.

In General. Nick is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the State Court of Illinois, and he is a member of the Society for International Affairs. Nick earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2009 and received his B.A in political science and Latino studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2006. Nick is fluent in Spanish.
