Matthew J. Fedor is a partner in the firm’s Communications Litigation Practice Group. He concentrates his practice on complex commercial disputes and class action litigation.
Litigation. Matt regularly represents a leading wireless communications service provider in disputes with its current and former distribution agents, in real estate litigation, and in consumer class actions. He recently defended a national sportswear and footwear retailer in a consumer class action that alleged violations of the New Jersey Gift Card Act, the Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act, and the Consumer Fraud Act. Matt also represents businesses and individuals in cases involving breach of contract, consumer fraud, franchise disputes, trade libel, unfair competition, trademark infringement, tortious interference, non-compete covenants and other business disputes.
In General. Matt received his J.D.,
summa cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2002, and his B.S.,
cum laude, from Rutgers University in 1997. Prior to attending law school, Matt worked for one of the largest insurance companies in the United States. While in law school, Matt served as an editor for the
Seton Hall Law Review. His article was published in Volume 32 of the review and he received the award for Best Student Article.
Matt joined the firm following clerkships with New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Peter G. Verniero and U.S. District Judge Katharine S. Hayden. While in law school, he also served as an intern for U.S. District Judge Joseph A. Greenaway, Jr.
Matt was included on the
New Jersey Super Lawyers List of Rising Stars for the years 2009, 2010 and 2011. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey, and the Seton Hall Chapter of the Order of the Coif.
