Melissa S. Dillenbeck is a senior associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group. In her practice, Melissa focuses on trademarks, advertising and promotions and copyright protection. Melissa assists clients with all aspects of branding, including selection, acquisition, protection and management of domestic and international trademark portfolios. She also counsels clients on how to structure sweepstakes, contests and promotions, and reviews advertising campaigns for legal compliance. She has experience representing clients in false advertising cases before the National Advertising Division of the Better Business Bureau. Melissa also has experience in the growing areas of social media and user-generated content.
Melissa graduated with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she was also a teaching assistant for First-Year Legal Writing. She holds a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University.
Melissa is a former competitive figure skater and is now a judge for U.S. Figure Skating. She is currently the National Chair of U.S. Figure Skating's Sanctions and Eligibility Committee. For three years, Melissa served as a Regional Vice Chair for Judges, overseeing more than 130 figure skating judges in eight states. She is the also former Secretary of the Skating Council of Illinois.
