Counsel
Lauren D. Godfrey is counsel in the firm’s Product Liability & Mass Tort Practice Group. Lauren’s practice focuses on the defense of pharmaceutical companies, product liability, mass tort, business litigation and litigation involving the transfer of structured settlement payment rights. She has also represented clients in family law proceedings in cases involving divorce, equitable distribution and custody issues.
In General. Lauren obtained her juris doctor from New York Law School as an evening student. While attending law school, Lauren worked full-time in a New Jersey law firm as a civil litigation paralegal. She was an articles editor for the
Journal of International and Comparative Law. She held various positions in the Law Student Division of the American Bar Association and served as chair of the Law Student Division during the 2002-2003 bar year.
Affiliations. Lauren is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the New Jersey State Bar, the New York State Bar, the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She is an active member of the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association. She is a past chair of TIPS’ Technology Committee.
Publications. Lauren authored two articles entitled “E-Discovery: A Hands-On Approach” and "Ten Tips for E-Filing Court Documents" which were published in the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section’s Summer 2006 and Winter 2009 issues of
TortSource. She also wrote the monthly column “Officially Speaking” for the September, October and December 2002, and March, April and May 2003 issues of the
