Kathleen O’Connor Adams is counsel in the Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Law Practice Group of the Chicago office. Kathleen focuses her practice on a broad range of employee benefits issues for both taxable and tax-exempt entities, including tax-qualified retirement plans (such as 401(k) plans defined benefit pension plans, and profit sharing plans), nonqualified retirement plans for management and key employees, health and welfare benefits, and executive compensation. She also has experience in advising clients on fiduciary issues, corporate governance, Internal Revenue Service correction procedures and health information privacy.
Prior to joining the firm in 2001, Kathleen worked in the employee benefits field as a senior consultant at Ernst & Young, LLP. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
In General. Kathleen earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 1999, where she served as a member of law review. She received her bachelor's degree in accounting from Drake University,
cum laude in 1994.
Kathleen is admitted to practice in Illinois and is admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
