Associate

Julie Sterner Patel is an associate in the nationally ranked Investment Management Practice Group.

Investment Management.  Julie’s practice primarily involves counseling organizations in the investment management industry, including multi-series and multi-class mutual funds, multi-manager funds and investment advisers. She also has experience with alternative investment products, including hedge funds and registered funds of hedge funds. Julie has participated in all aspects of fund formation and reorganization; negotiated contracts, prepared registration and proxy statements and handled various securities filings for both open-end and closed-end funds.

In General.  Julie earned her bachelor’s degree from Emory University in 2000 and her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 2004.  Prior to joining Drinker Biddle, Julie worked as a litigation associate at another Philadelphia area law firm.
