Government Relations Director
Jeremy Scott is a government relations director in the Washington, D.C., office. Jeremy has a broad range of government relations and lobbying experience in government, health care policy, and in representing and advancing legislative interests of nonprofit, advocacy and health organizations. He has particular skill and knowledge in: strategic planning, working the federal appropriations and authorization processes, planning and executing Capitol Hill advocacy days, and developing grassroots and grasstops programs.
Jeremy’s clients include nonprofit and patient advocacy organizations, health professional organizations and medical device companies. He provides these clients with strategic counsel on a variety of policy and advocacy issues including: advancing authorization legislation, securing federal appropriations support for programmatic funding increases, working with federal agencies on the implementation of legislation or proposed rules, conducting Capitol Hill advocacy and training events and implementing grassroots/grasstops campaigns.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeremy was the director of public policy for the national Tourette Syndrome Association (TSA), where he directed and managed the organization's Washington, D.C., office. Jeremy was responsible for advocating TSA's legislative agenda on Capitol Hill and before federal agencies. He also gathered grassroots support for legislative issues, including the inclusion of Tourette Syndrome as a disability in the
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
In addition, Jeremy worked as a legislative associate with Kinghorn & Associates, LLC, a government consulting firm in Washington, D.C., where he served as an advocate/client counselor on behalf of various defense contractors and trade associations. Prior to that, Jeremy worked as a legislative correspondent and staff assistant for Senator Mike DeWine (R-Ohio), focusing primarily on health issues related to managed care, Medicare, Medicaid and appropriations.
Jeremy received his bachelor’s degree in history from Malone College and graduated
magna cum laude from Johns Hopkins University with a master’s degree in government. Jeremy was also the recipient of the Johns Hopkins University Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences’ 2010 Harold Seidman Thesis Award for an outstanding thesis in the topic of policy and administration.
