Jodie A. Curtis is a senior government relations director in the Washington, D.C., office. Jodie has considerable experience in government, congressional affairs and health care policy representing and advancing the legislative and regulatory interests of non-profit, advocacy and health organizations. Her particular strengths are: strategic planning to craft winning tactics for clients to meet their public policy goals, fostering relationships with Congressional Members and staff, working the federal appropriations and authorization processes, building coalitions, developing public policies and setting organization priorities, planning and executing Capitol Hill advocacy days for hundreds of participants and organizing successful and creative grassroots campaigns. Jodie has particular experience in patient advocacy and global health. She has conducted dozens of training programs to teach citizens about their government and train them to be effective advocates at the local, state and federal levels and has lectured about health policy at numerous conferences and round tables. Jodie focuses on health care policy, advocacy and regulatory issues.
Prior to joining the firm, Jodie was an assistant director with Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), where she directed and managed the organization's federal government relations program. She also possesses substantial political experience having acted as deputy chief of staff for U.S. Representative Thomas M. Barrett (current Mayor of the City of Milwaukee), as executive assistant for U.S. Representatives Lynn Rivers and Peter Barca and as district director/legislative assistant for Wisconsin State Senator Barbara Ulichny.
