Washington, D.C. partner Bob Stoll published an article in The Hill titled, “US patent reform’s international impact.”

Bob points out that governments from all over the world are watching the U.S. while Congress conducts patent reform conversations. Other countries are taking into account what the U.S. will do next while making their own decisions on patent reform.

Bob emphasizes that Congress needs to ensure the adoption of reforms that do not prevent a legitimate patent holder from enforcing his or her rights. He says legislators need to be mindful of the global economy – i.e., companies that sell products abroad and patent holders outside of the US.
