Washington, D.C. partner Bob Stoll published an article in The Hill titled, “Patent reform at a fever pitch.”

The article discusses the renewed interest in patent reform shown by the large number of bills introduced in April.

In the article, Bob mentions that most believe that patent reform must occur in some way in order to counter abusive trolls, especially when extortion comes into play. Reform supporters are either those who want to limit a plaintiff’s ability to bring suit, or those who want to end predatory behavior. Bob suggests that those engaged in patent reform look past the activities of trolls, and look at which areas could benefit with guidance.
