Los Angeles partner Kate Gold and associate Philippe Lebel co-authored an article for SHRM.org, titled, “Let Them Talk: The Risks of No-Gossip Policies.”

In the article, Kate and Philippe discuss how “no-gossip” policies, which prohibit employees from discussing the personal lives of others or making negative remarks about co-workers, can actually be more trouble than they’re worth. In some instances they can even be found unlawful under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), a law that governs collective bargaining and employee concerted activity in many workplaces.
